Things to do & see in the area
Oliva has various Art Galleries and Museums which
can mainly be located in the vicinity of the Town Hall. Tours in all
languages can be organized by the tourist board which is located on
the paseo.
Many people enjoy the hustle and bustle of the busy street Market that is held
every Friday morning on the paseo. Here a whole host of goods are
sold at fabulous prices from flowers, fruit and vegetables to souvenirs,
clothes and ornaments.
Oliva has many restaurants and bars to choose from.
There is also an extremely good sports centre which has an Olympic
size swimming pool and a gymnasium available for casual use as well
as very reasonably priced membership.
A few great day trips are as follows.
Vergel Safari Park - only a 15-minute
drive outside Oliva, offers the park itself plus a great picnic
and play area with some good restaurants. In addition to this, you
can actually swim with the sea lions, fabulous fun for the whole
family!
Aqualandia - in Benidorm and Aquasol
in Cullera – both extremely good waterparks.
Terramitica - A huge theme park in Benidorm
based on Mediteranean cultures, offers rollercoasters, rides and
shows. It is beautifully kept and well worth a visit.
Mundomar - a marine life park where
dolphins, turtles and other sea lifecan be observed in their natural
habitiat. An educational and fun day out for children and adults
alike.
The Aquarium (L’ Oceanogràfic
) - in Valencia is said to be very good and the biggest in Europe.
The Algar Waterfalls - are beautiful,
and a great way to spend a hot summers day. In addition to the Waterfalls
themselves there are shops selling natural products from the area
and also picnic and BBQ areas.
In addition to the above mentioned parks, there are some pleasant
walks and historic sites in and around the area that can be visited
and the nearby towns of Gandia, Denia and Javea all make a nice
day out.
